Book Possibilities:
*
Softback Notebook - A single signature (section of folded pages) is sewn together with endpapers
and flyleaves. Then the endpapers are glued to the cover material to form a book which can be
used for writing, sketching, or as a photo album. (About a 2 hour class)
*
Corrugated Cardboard Journal - A paperback journal made using corrugated cardboard for its
cover. It has a stab binding where holes are punched through all covers and pages and then the
book is bound with raffia or cord. (About a 2 hour class)
*
Photo Accordion Book for 4x6" pictures - Hardback covers envelope an accordion fold insert that
will hold 6 - 11 pictures. (About a 3 hour class)
*
Batik Fabric Pocket Books - This is a multiple day project where students learn a simple batik
process we'll use to batik their own drawing. The batik cover is then used to make a pocket book
that will fit standard sized notebooks so it can be used over and over again.
